Banco Atlántida celebrates 109 years of its foundation with more than US$4,000,000,000 in deposits.

More than 1.6 million customers trust their savings in the institution, turning it into the fastest growing in Honduras.

Tegucigalpa, February 10th, 2022. - Banco Atlántida celebrates 109 years of operating in the Honduran market. One of the most important achievements for its executives, employees and share holders, is to exceed 100,000 million lempiras in deposits, making it the first Honduran Bank in the financial system to reach this milestone.

Key figures from the National Banking and Insurance Commission (CNBS) place Banco Atlántida at the forefront of the ranking, by accumulating at the end of 2021 the amount of 101,080.4 million lempiras in deposits, which is equivalent to 21.1% of the total commercial banking (478,749.7 million lempiras in balance of the 15 banking institutions).

Guillermo Bueso, CEO of Banco Atlántida, expresses that in recent years the institution has implemented a series of innovations to meet the growing demand of services from its customers making large investments in technology, in such way that, its customers continue to access more products and technological solutions, in addition to the service available through its wide network of branches throughout the country. Among the innovative and successful services, ‘Atlántida Más Fácil’, the first digital savings account in Honduras stands out, which the convenience of a digital onboarding process to set up their account from their smartphones with total security and without visiting a branch. The accelerated and exponential growth of its platforms: ‘Atlántida Online’ and ‘Atlántida Móvil’, also stands out, allowing customers to carry out more than 400 transactions from their mobile phones or computers with the highest security standards.

Another key element in Banco Atlántida´s success is having highly experienced human resource in Honduran Banking, with specialized work structures at management, vice-presidency and Board of Directors levels, who design and implement strategies that strengthen the growth of the institution in Honduras and its expansion in the region.
