Banco Atlántida makes trust funds available to the Salvadorian market

Banco Atlántida obtained the highest "Platinum" award in the Marketing Innovation category for the project "Digital Donde Estés" (Digital Wherever You Are), the first and only digital banking program of its kind in Honduras and Central America. The Digital Wallet Dilo was also recognized with the "Silver" award in the category of infrastructure, ecosystem, and Back-End.

Fintech Americas recognized Banco Atlántida as the winner of a Country Award in the eighth edition of the Financial Innovators Awards in the Americas, a program that acknowledges the spirit of innovation of financial institutions in the Americas and their contribution to the industry. In the year of its 110th anniversary, Banco Atlántida is recognized for its great adaptability to unexpected market changes, the development of new technologies in response to national and international regulations, and modifications in customer expectations.

The innovative initiative of the "Digital Donde Estés" Program has had a very positive impact since its inception in 2020. It was motivated by the mobility restrictions experienced in Honduras due to the Covid-19 pandemic, where financial users couldn't go to physical bank branches and had to rely on digital channels for their transactions.

To support financial users in the adoption and use of digital channels, Banco Atlántida launched "Digital Donde Estés," the first digital financial education television program in Honduras and Central America. Its aim was to educate and inform people about how easy and secure it is to perform online transactions. This initiative included 115 programs broadcasted on national television and social media, a portal with over 100 tutorial videos, and a team of "bancarizadores" (financial inclusion agents) in branches nationwide. Through this program, more than 300,000 users have been successfully directed to online banking, surpassing the transactional volume of the bank through digital channels compared to physical ones.

On the other hand, in its second anniversary, the Digital Wallet "Dilo" is recognized with the silver award in the category of infrastructure, ecosystem, and back-end for the development of its digital banking application, emphasizing the security of its ecosystem. A panel discussion on digital banking and financial inclusion was also held during the event, featuring Carlos Girón, Corporate Vice President of Image and Communications at Banco Atlántida, and José Manuel Cáceres, General Manager of Dilo. The event also honored the employees and companies involved in the production of the "Digital Donde Estés" program, as well as those involved in the development and launch of the Dilo Digital Wallet.

Carlos Girón, Corporate Vice President of Image and Communications at Banco Atlántida, expressed, "We are thrilled to raise the name of Honduras and our Financial Group through a unique initiative that has allowed us to digitally transform the consumption of financial services for thousands of users in Honduras. 'Digital Donde Estés' and 'Dilo' are a testament to our firm commitment to innovation, digital banking, and financial inclusion."

The winners of the Fintech Americas Country Awards 2023 were selected from a list of hundreds of nominations from nearly 20 countries. Ray Ruga, CEO of Fintech Americas, stated, "I am proud to witness, once again, how professionals and institutions in Honduras strive daily to improve customer and employee experiences, promote financial inclusion, and at the same time, make their organizations more sustainable, responsible, and efficient."
