IBEROATLÁNTIDA, the holding company for Inversiones Atlántida (INVATLAN) in Spain, has received authorization from the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) to purchase 45% of EBN Capital, the investment fund manager of EBN Banco de España.

Following an evaluation by the regulator, it is confirmed that this important financial conglomerate meets the strict regulatory requirements to participate in the Spanish market. This authorization reflects the vision of international expansion of the Group, which has more than 111 years of experience and financial solidity.

"Our vision of growth is consolidated with the approval of the CNMV, which confirms that we are on the right track. We are very pleased with this important step forward and with being the first group of Honduran origin to access the Spanish financial market, a milestone in our financial development," said Guillermo Bueso, President of Grupo Financiero Atlántida.

In recent years, the Group has consolidated its presence in several key sectors of the economy, such as banking, insurance, pension and retirement plans, leasing, securities houses, and investment managers, among others. This diversification has allowed for significant international growth and a notable presence in the Central American region, including Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Panama, as well as Ecuador.

"We come to countries to stay, because we believe they add value to our proposition, and in that sense, Spain is a strategic market for our business. EBN Capital has exceptional experience in launching and managing its own differentiated, alternative, and innovative products," said Bueso Anduray.

This strategic vision gives the company a corporate credential in the international financial arena, which translates into an affiliated portfolio of more than 4 million clients in 5 countries, over US$21 billion in assets under management, demonstrating its financial strength, and more than 6,000 employees worldwide.

“For Grupo EBN, the incorporation of GFA is a source of pride and a certain confirmation of the differentiated value proposition of our manager, EBN Capital," said Santiago Fernández Valbuena, President of EBN Capital and Vice President of EBN Banco.

With the authorization to participate in EBN Capital, Grupo Financiero Atlántida achieves a significant presence that will allow it to generate synergies and strengthen its competitive position in the global market. This achievement is part of GFA's growth strategy and vision in the Spanish market, considering that the Group has a 9.9% stake in EBN Banco since 2021.
